The Board of Directors consists of seven members

The Board includes positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasury. Nomination and selection for each position is determined by the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors will typically meet monthly for regular meetings and will occasionally conduct Special Meetings throughout the year as needed

New LEDC Board members will be expected to participate in Board Member orientation and training

To be eligible to serve as a Board member of the LEDC, an individual must:

• Be a resident of the City of Lockney,
• Be a resident of Floyd County, or
• Reside within 10 miles of the boundaries of the City of Lockney and in a county adjacent to Floyd County, and 
• NOT be an employee, elected official, or appointed official of the City of Lockney

Additionally, the ideal candidate to serve on the LEDC Board of Directors offers a solid mix of experience, qualifications, and passion for enhancing economic prosperity and building a thriving business and desirable environment for Lockney, including:

• Past or current experience as a business owner, business administrator and/or familiarity in an industry/sector considered important to the future of Lockney
• A solid understanding of budgetary and financial activities, including sufficient understanding of business/development finance to participate in negotiation and award of funds for projects where/when appropriate 
• Passion for increasing quality of life and economic prosperity for residents, property owners, business owners, employees and other investors within Lockney City Limits.
• A strong desire to promote the development and growth of business in Mineral Wells and fully implement the vision and recommendations established by the Economic Development Corporation
• An ability to seek innovative solutions, often in collaboration with other partners and in a manner that leverages resources
• Innate leadership, management and interpersonal skills
• Patience and good humor
• Additional skill sets complementary to a holistic approach to economic development as recognized in the Economic Development Strategic Plan
